This newest album from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony resurrects many of the earlier elements that made them what they are - creators. Incorporating complex and intricate word weaves into the multi-layered music created by Jimmy "JT" Hutton and DJ U - Neek, among others, produces some bomb-diggy tracks. The range that is exhibited on BTNHRESURRECTION encompasses their growth as artisans of the rap craft. Exploring the many mysteries of life, and checking haters like pucks, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony keeps it rugged on this fourth album. "Resurrection" bounces like a pogo stick over the haunting gong toll in the background. Putting all those foes that hated on their style and concepts in place while promoting their headz to get their loot on, "Resurrection" is bound to be all up in the bass space in the summer. "Can't Give It Up" speaks on the need to give to get, in everything. Their mantra? "There's always something you gotta give up/ if you wanna get everything you want." True dat. "Change Da World" features a reflective Bone Thugs-N-Harmony hoping for a change for the better in the world. Reminiscent of their reflective piece "Crossroads" in its embracing spirituality, it may well be the next bi- coastal bomb. BTNHRESURRECTION is a hip-hopra packed with tales of betrayal, passion, and spirituality. Though several tracks seem old hat, such as "Weed," which is an ode to guess what, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony puts it on like pros. |
